Ronaldo Guivarra is one of Descendance’s leading song persons; he received training by one of the company’s cultural heads, the late great Yidinji and Kandu song women Imelda Willis. Ronaldo has heritages from both Aboriginal (Waanji Tribe) and The Torres Strait Islands (Paibri Tribe), he is one of Australia’s most experienced indigenous performers in both Mainland and Islander culture. Ronaldo has also been the operations manger of the Descendance residency in Alice Springs on and off since 2003, helping win Descendance a Brolga award in Tourism in 2003. Ronaldo’s strong voice covers all styles of songs in both contemporary and traditional fields; he was also the lead singer on The Descendance CD “Creation” released in 2008.
